Kurt Cobain

Wanting to be someone else
is a waste
of the person you are.

Mark Twain

Go to heaven for the climate
and hell for the company.

Muhammad Ali

The man who has no imagination
has no wings.

Oscar Wilde

We are our own devil
and we make this world our hell.

Gillian Anderson’s advice for young feminists

Above anything else, stay true to yourself. Whether that means for you that you like to have blue hair, or you don’t like to drink, or you are attracted to the same sex, or you want to remove yourself from Facebook, or you’ve got 3 different kids from 3 different dads but you know you’re a really good mom, or you cry for a week because your turtle died. Whatever your truth is, stay true to yourself. But be a good person while you’re at it.

Friedrich Nietzsche

And those who were seen
dancing
were thought to be insane
by those
who could not hear
the music.

Alice Walker

The most
common way
people give up
their power is
by thinking they
don't have any.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J.K. Rowling

We’re all human, aren’t we?
Every human life is worth the same,
and worth saving.

3/7/13

We cry over
Friends we will never have back
People we once loved
Bridges that have been burnt.
But there's a reason
The past is in the past.
You only have so much
Room in your life,
Save it for people who deserve it.
Chances are,
If someone's in the past,
They deserve to
Stay there.

"Either/ Or: A Fragment of Life" by Søren Kierkegaard

Do it or don't do it – you will regret both.
I'm not searching for my other half
because I'm not a half.
When it's over, leave.
Don't continue watering a dead flower.

Ragnar Lothbrok, Vikings

We are fated to die on a certain day
but it’s our own choice to do as we please
until that day comes.

"Tell Me" by Auriel Haack

Tell me when your hands start reaching for her throat instead of her clothes.
Tell me when ‘baby’ turns to ‘bitch’ on the tip of your tongue.
Tell me when goosebumps disappear with your touch, when you start making her skin crawl.
Tell me when you forget how to love her softly,
when you don’t remember how to say her name without spitting,
when you don’t know how to hold her without breaking her.
Tell me when you lose yourself to the monster,
so I can tell her what no one ever told me to do:
run.

"Miracles of Life" by J.G. Ballard

But it held a deeper meaning for me, the sense that reality
itself was a stage set that could be dismantled at any
moment, and that no matter how magnificent anthing
appeared, it could be swept aside into the debris of the past.

"Collected Poems" by W.H. Auden

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

"93 Percent Stardust" by Nikita Gill

We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins,
carbon in our souls, and nitrogen in our brains.
93 percent stardust, with souls made of flames,
we are all just stars that have people names.

Marry someone who agrees that people sorted into Slytherin aren't evil.

Daniel Radcliffe

I spent like 10 years of my life pretending to fly around on a broomstick and you’re asking me if preparing for a love scene was ‘tricky’ because the other person also had a penis?
